RIT Launch Initiative is a student run performance club at RIT. Comprised of multiple project teams, such as liquid propulsion, solid propulsion, space race, and an IREC team.
IREC stands for Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition, which is a student rocketry competition held every year to develop an L3 class rocket to compete in different classes, while launching at Spaceport America.
The Space Race program is for new members to learn the basics of high power rocketry. The new members form two teams and compete against each other to build and launch an L2 rocket
The liquid propulsion team is working on developing a liquid fueled rocket engine that can be one day integrated in an L3 class rocket.
The solid propulsion team is working on an SRAD solid rocket motor for this years IREC rocket
